I hope you had a rested Easter fortnight and welcome back to our very first remote summer term!
We’ve all had to adapt to new ways of working, so I wanted to take the opportunity to say what an amazing job you’re doing supporting your children’s wellbeing and learning during this time.
It’s definitely been a strange and challenging time, so it’s ok if you and your child feel wobbly and worried at the moment. We’re here for you every step of the way as we figure all of this out together. If you have any concerns about helping your child learn or if you need any other support from school, or simply want to share what you and your children have been up to, please let us know by speaking to the teacher or teaching assistant when they phone you, phoning into school or making contact with the teachers via the private fb pages we’ve set up.
We miss the children so much, but we have to follow the government’s guidance to keep everyone in our community safe. We’re carrying on with remote working and learning which you can find on the class pages of our school website and are continuing to open school every day to support the children of keyworkers who require our support, as well as making regular contact with families via both phone calls and facebook pages. The phone calls are simply to keep in touch with you and your children – not to check up on whether or not you’re doing the work which has been set!
Just because we’re not all in the same building doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun together! Your children have been doing some amazing things which you’ve told us and shown us about and it’s been so lovely to see the pictures and messages you’ve shared with us and each other – as well as seeing some of the messages you’ve been sending on your children’s behalf to us or their friends!
We can’t say yet when we’ll be able to open the school fully, but rest assured that we’ll keep doing our utmost to keep the online learning activities going and our school community connected.
Here’s to the start of a great Summer term in Jacksdale!
