Meet Our Class
We are a class full of the best children with the best attitudes, who show positive attitudes to learning, kindness and a will to learn and achieve.
Miss Place is our teacher and we also have support during the week from Mrs Charles, Mrs Hawton and Mrs Wetton.
As a year group we work really hard on learning and being able to remember our times tables (& associated division facts) ready for the Multiplication tables check in early June. This is a national statutory test for all children in year 4 across England with the expectation that children should be able to recall a mixed set of 25 answers within a short time (approximately 6 seconds per question).
Our class LOVE learning about history and geography as well as taking a lot of pride in our art work. Keep an eye out for all of our artistic flair and speciality pieces in the gallery below!
This term we are learning:
English: Descriptive writing (Romans) - compound and complex sentences, vocabulary for effect and similes
Maths: place value, addition & subtraction, measurement (area), multiplication & division
Science: Electricity and sound
History: Ancient Greece
Geography: Locational knowledge (Europe), Place knowledge (comparing a UK region to a European region)
Religious Education:
Art: Sculpture
Design & Technology:
Computing: Writing for different audiences (word processing)
P.E.: Outside - orienteering - developing individual and team skills and communication in map reading. Inside - focusing on individual core strength and developing this.
PSHE / RSHE: Health and well-being
Languages: Food
P.E. Days
Our class have P.E. / sports on the following days. Please make sure that children are wearing the correct P.E. uniform of a plain white t-shirt, black / nay shorts or joggers, black / navy hoody and trainers.
